Toymaker Lego sees rising 2009 sales

Danish toymaker Lego posted a 31 percent rise in 2008 pretax profit on Monday, despite a shrinking total global market for toys, and said it saw rising sales this year even with the worldwide recession.

Pretax earnings at Europe's biggest toy manufacturer rose to 1.9 billion crowns ($321.3 million) from 1.4 billion in 2007.

Sales rose 19 percent to 9.5 billion crowns from 8.0 billion.

Lego said the development in 2009 was subject to great uncertainty and would be increasingly affected by the worldwide recession. Read more Here.
